Just like us, our animals and pets carry parasites.  Whether they are cats, dogs, hamsters, snakes, parakeets, koi carp, horses or cattle, parasites and animals are intrinsically linked.

Critter Cleanse is a 500 year old recipe used by our Mediterranean ancestors to help their animals rid themselves of health-destroying parasites, moulds, fungi and yeasts.

Two types of parasites infest animals, internal and external parasites. Internal parasites live in the intestines, bloodstream, joints muscle tissue and the brain. External parasites such as fleas, ticks, mites and lice live on or just under the skin. Internal parasites include intestinal worms as well as protozoa such as giardia, often ingested from contaminated water supplies. All parasites can cause discomfort, illness and even death.

Kittens, puppies and many other new-born pets may already be host to parasites. Infection may have occurred through the placenta before the birth took place, or possibly through the mother's milk during nursing, or from directly ingesting the egg of the parasite. One way to determine the presence of parasites is to check their stool with a magnifying glass for eggs.

Kittens and puppies are often affected by heartworm through the bite of an egg-carrying mosquito. These eggs grow into the adult worms that lodge in the heart. Symptoms in your cat or dog may including coughing, weight loss, tiredness and vomiting. Standard treatments are available but carry significant risks. 

Other parasites include roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, giardia, whipworms and more. All can induce significant amounts of internal damage such as irritation and inflammation, blockages to the distribution of nutrition, blood supply and oxygen.
