Women around the world use lotions and potions, oils and serums and a range of fragrance and skin care products every day.
They’ve been doing so throughout the ages.
A team that sought to replicate ancient Egypt’s most famous perfumes based on residues found in old bottles and came up with what they believed to be Cleopatra’s scent….Nenúfar (Blue Lotus).
The original version had hallucinogenic properties; this wasfrequently illustrated on tomb walls.
But what if the very products designed to help you look and feel your best in the 21st century were somehow contributing to your poor health?
If you hadn’t already guessed, the fragrance industry isn’t meticulously preparing its concoctions to make you smell and feel better.
It’s there to make as much money as possible at your expense.
And that’s easy as the fragrance industry is completely unregulated.
Fragrances have been linked to all manner of illnesses and allergies.
From What Doctors Don’t Tell You – “Researchers at the University of Notre Dame analysed more than 200 cosmetics, and discovered that 56 percent of the foundation creams, 48 percent of lip products and 47 percent of mascaras contained high levels of fluorine, a ‘red flag’ indicator of PFA use.
PFAs is a persistent chemical. When it gets into the bloodstream, it stays there and accumulates. There’s also the additional risk of environmental contamination associated with the manufacture and disposal of these products, which could affect many more people,” said lead researcher Graham Peaslee
One of these toxic compounds has been associated with serious health conditions such as reduced birth weight and cancer: It goes by the name of PFAS – and is made from perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances.
PFAS is 100% synthetic and toxic to the human body; many people have reported dizziness, headaches, itchy skin, rashes, sleeplessness, hives, brain fog, itchy eyes and even difficulty breathing when exposed to these fragrances.

Our body only has a certain threshold against such poisons. When you go past that threshold that’s when issues appear.
Even if you’re not sensitive to these fragrances now, it could only be a matter of time before you start having issues.

What You Can Do Instead
Instead of fragrances, you can use essential oils that not only smell fantastic but they’re also extremely beneficial to the body. Give them a try.
I hope you can open this video I saw on the BBC website last week.
Dr Shanna Swan, an environmental and reproductive epidemiologist at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York outlines some of the reasons men are becoming infertile and how close we are today to couples being unable to conceive.
Assisted reproduction by way of long term storage of frozen eggs and the use of surrogate mothers could become more and more common unless something is reversed.

Dark Waters
If you haven’t already seen the 2019 film ‘Dark Waters’ (Mark Ruffalo and Ann Hathaway) the film exposes the hazards of the chemical PSO3 in Teflon.
The story was first told in the 2007 book “Stain-Resistant, Nonstick, Waterproof and Lethal: The Hidden Dangers of C8” by Callie Lyons.
Just because Teflon no longer contains PFOA doesn’t mean it has suddenly become safe and non-toxic.
Teflon still contains PTFEs, and Teflon pots and pans manufactured before 2013 likely contain both PTFE and PFOA.
Should You Worry About PFOA & PTFEs in your Cookware?
IF you’re thinking of buying teflon pots and pans (or you have them already) take a few minutes to read this.
https://www.hollyroser.com/post/is-teflon-safe
and I quote from the article….“I strongly recommend not cooking with Teflon. While many companies claim that it’s perfectly safe to use, even The American Cancer Society hints that there may be an association between Teflon and cancer.”
Use cast iron, ceramic or stainless steel pots and pans instead.
